Today was a beautiful day here as our family came together to celebrate the wedding of my sweet niece. Its crazy how time flies! She was just a baby when I married my sweet companion over 22 years ago.<br>
Unfortunately, I suffer from back pain mixed with some arthritis and fibromyalgia. Today was one of those days where my back was in severe pain and it was hard to enjoy the day and accomplish all the things I needed too. I needed to make her a card quick to go along with her gift...so I used Lawn Fawn's set "Penelope's Blossoms". This set is just amazingly beautiful when embossed and makes a quick and elegant card. I used a teal card base and then emobssed the florals and sentiment with silver embossing powder to match her wedding colors of silver and teal. Since these are my favorite colors as well...it was easy to love the results!<br>
Its days like these that I am so grateful for amazing stamp companies, like Lawn Fawn, that make my life easier.<br>
<br>
Enjoy!<br>

She calls this technique "Creative Watercolor Stamping"<br>
<div>
I take my image from Hero Arts and color it with my distress markers and then slighly wet them down before i bring them to the Tim Holtz watercolor paper.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Then with a lot of work and prayer....I use water and more distress ink to make the image come to life!</div>
<div>
I also distressed the paper and added the sentiment from a Winnie and Walter set and inked it with Simon Says Stamp Dark Chocolate ink.</div><div><br></div>
<div>
What do you think? Not bad for a first try....but can't wait to see how good I can become with practice!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYVJZGmHe3a6l1KPu3BtjzlDBRkn2o9nXaPN7l_h2DKPkJXgqJXOaV0J6LXJOS_Mx3R9tKJ_6ZSktUp_4Jr2g3ZU4Ml6ttix_3PZekHksqJtsQLrYW7LEgAZWXbRD13-ZTLTyUG7gKdM4/s640/blogger-image--1639649374.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYVJZGmHe3a6l1KPu3BtjzlDBRkn2o9nXaPN7l_h2DKPkJXgqJXOaV0J6LXJOS_Mx3R9tKJ_6ZSktUp_4Jr2g3ZU4Ml6ttix_3PZekHksqJtsQLrYW7LEgAZWXbRD13-ZTLTyUG7gKdM4/s640/blogger-image--1639649374.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><div>Enjoy!</div><div>~Debbie</div>

Can I just tell you there isn't enough time in the day to make all that I want to make! I'm not just talking about homework for the techniques that I've learned but all the other ideas creaping around in this brain of mine (I really need to get an art journal to write them all down and experiment in .....because as old as I'm getting....I'm forgetting them before they hit the card), not to mention my bad back and fibromyalgia acting up before I can even get going each day!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So ....that being said, I was able to crank out a few cards for the first couple days of homework. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEDxNcLRxQI9_lynKwtKdofmCtceKYtdacjQ1-dLvAl4t-a53Fap4arGElIPnUcnIQQXTyCGYB3Rvzh8P9XfT1vs50pk_3MIkvZZ8b1jpMsAoRX1qgrNTXQGO8Y0adUcMQSfTSg-ffP5Y/s640/blogger-image--771285267.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEDxNcLRxQI9_lynKwtKdofmCtceKYtdacjQ1-dLvAl4t-a53Fap4arGElIPnUcnIQQXTyCGYB3Rvzh8P9XfT1vs50pk_3MIkvZZ8b1jpMsAoRX1qgrNTXQGO8Y0adUcMQSfTSg-ffP5Y/s640/blogger-image--771285267.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This first one obviously is a wash of color in the background in a rainbow effect usign shades from yellow to purple. I wrote the sentiment "Smile" with a versamark marker and clear embossed it before I did any watercolring though, and then after the color dried...I iron-off embossed the sentiment to make it a one layer card. Jennifer McGuire has a few videos explaining this process ...I will add a link to one of them for you <a href="http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/04/video-watercolor-backgrounds-iron-off-embossing-birthday-hop-giveaway.html" target="_blank">HERE!</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrqyz6uKe-385n9zpNo6WZMPfLpvW76D7i_DxhVOpz23fWDhif_QMLtJl6GWKtW40INZ-R_QDoadByGWMP3L_AzpbflSXWiNrrLTVe3M8r1g-mbez2hHjwZpLzJb-Op36yTEycwtiyTXw/s640/blogger-image-1527364415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrqyz6uKe-385n9zpNo6WZMPfLpvW76D7i_DxhVOpz23fWDhif_QMLtJl6GWKtW40INZ-R_QDoadByGWMP3L_AzpbflSXWiNrrLTVe3M8r1g-mbez2hHjwZpLzJb-Op36yTEycwtiyTXw/s640/blogger-image-1527364415.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
This second card was inspired by the lesson taught from the always amazing Laura Bassen. IT was donw using distress inks on a small acryllic block with some water and stamping them in a pattern. THen of course the fun star and sentiment are from Hero Arts latest release and some Doodlebug springtime enamel dots finish it off!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid5ZZNZ-aKsVjt_y_mci9iMbXqcyJaw8ec-UiB2L5EujrizpcCHnKCSi2-40XEXw_9q4VULh65YLDJBjxy4sfgcYsz47_B_Ui3ey802Qr9IvdKaMoKcyWCcASeyNODzhBJBNFujGQgEno/s640/blogger-image-1006953415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid5ZZNZ-aKsVjt_y_mci9iMbXqcyJaw8ec-UiB2L5EujrizpcCHnKCSi2-40XEXw_9q4VULh65YLDJBjxy4sfgcYsz47_B_Ui3ey802Qr9IvdKaMoKcyWCcASeyNODzhBJBNFujGQgEno/s640/blogger-image-1006953415.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This fun card was the result of the lesson taught by Jennifer McGuire using liquid masking on your stamped image before adding the water color This flower and sentiment is from another new set from Hero Arts! I gotta say, I love their latest release and you'll see me use many stamps from it in the near future! There also is a newsprint background stamped in black and white behind the water color image that is also from Hero Arts...and the Pearls were just regular ones from Michaels that I colored black with my copic marker.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqgKgeMlYNF1-X8Rkip_SZBrx27x9L_WzsJ09FyT9WgO5OearVbXzBa84L7Kzubh3Hh4qookyDey1f0wMsWDYUg0P77HLCLDnMO9k9wfIv3hLoIEuL-c7xXr91X4V9FkPvrzfZN_j4C50/s640/blogger-image--1843972493.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqgKgeMlYNF1-X8Rkip_SZBrx27x9L_WzsJ09FyT9WgO5OearVbXzBa84L7Kzubh3Hh4qookyDey1f0wMsWDYUg0P77HLCLDnMO9k9wfIv3hLoIEuL-c7xXr91X4V9FkPvrzfZN_j4C50/s640/blogger-image--1843972493.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This last card was sooooo easy and fun to do! I absolutely love the effect and will be trying it out many a times with different embossing folders. It was done using distress inks and water on a folder and that is all folks!! The sentiment is again, another Hero Arts one and the hexagon enamels dots are from Basic Grey and went along with the background perfectly! I also threw in some polkadotted ribbon that matched from my stash...that I believe was from Michaels as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Well my friends, I hope you enjoyed looking at all the fun I've created just from the first two days. We are on day 5 and I still have so many things I want to create, but with a wedding in the familly this week, Dr appts, and making dinner for a family in my neighborhood who just had twins....I may not get to it as fast as my little heart desires! Wish me luck :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Hugs!</div>

I did the entire background with the watercolors as per our first day of homework in the Online Card Class I'm participating in. I also used a large die from Simon Says Stamp over the top which I just cut out on my Vagabond with Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. I then copic colored the heart to match the background and added some clear Wink of Stella over it to add some shimmer. After adding a few enamel dots and hearts for extra color and dimention...my card was complete! <div>Hope my Momma loves it as much as I do :)</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnzvBqii8TbQ4VxoXr2lCTN24Eh9yBPrFHB1zzOJPGs3mcTxnam4KfHaR-4e_qgp4ddDsx5umU3Tw-z8lXuVUQXlux95xOxuB_zocW6i7JVurD8sr1iEfSlmpqwePLoRJSM9V932CfLWc/s640/blogger-image-897625517.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnzvBqii8TbQ4VxoXr2lCTN24Eh9yBPrFHB1zzOJPGs3mcTxnam4KfHaR-4e_qgp4ddDsx5umU3Tw-z8lXuVUQXlux95xOxuB_zocW6i7JVurD8sr1iEfSlmpqwePLoRJSM9V932CfLWc/s640/blogger-image-897625517.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXBDPUpg4gbTm6YkKu5pu3I8Y-05s0oaVxgZv6XLZOO5RA2ntE4d7lXt82H-cMKsu1rP7g4ytGI73wf-P8aiZ65qSOYJCWX_VZJ9EBWXHm-xIFazr2LSkhLCbAucFBwU4xXqW0MiiLcTI/s640/blogger-image--199193571.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXBDPUpg4gbTm6YkKu5pu3I8Y-05s0oaVxgZv6XLZOO5RA2ntE4d7lXt82H-cMKsu1rP7g4ytGI73wf-P8aiZ65qSOYJCWX_VZJ9EBWXHm-xIFazr2LSkhLCbAucFBwU4xXqW0MiiLcTI/s640/blogger-image--199193571.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-72215254216848373212014-05-04T18:14:00.001-07:002014-05-04T18:14:25.887-07:00Watercolor PracticeTomorrow is the first day for the newest online card class "Watercolor for Card Makers"....<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKRzdOZWPu8H2jpTxudhImRK-gRW94DHaZ83_DRdQGtfe8325ekrxtBsYXlgywXdUKru15fjx7kLAzokcF7-T-9D8XqewIOe86GvSUNjYuACXmqaNvVZsQ63qOJbpOg1FUqAqNCHmRFyg/s640/blogger-image-848069869.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKRzdOZWPu8H2jpTxudhImRK-gRW94DHaZ83_DRdQGtfe8325ekrxtBsYXlgywXdUKru15fjx7kLAzokcF7-T-9D8XqewIOe86GvSUNjYuACXmqaNvVZsQ63qOJbpOg1FUqAqNCHmRFyg/s640/blogger-image-848069869.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I have been very busy the last few weeks but have had a chance to practice my water coloring on a few cards and I just wanted to take a moment to share them with you quick! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Here's the first one where I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg7RrQ0ve-esLPL83GKHZS0Y1hc16DvkUukB58fQmwcgr18Kc-sIE85MBjDasKsSKJab7xJJpH8DpLcqVZWzA5FeEyVIEpK1G5A16nhVjRsW8rR4AX8O28CA4WjLT6M1TbQ0LlJRzUaD0/s640/blogger-image-1734049708.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg7RrQ0ve-esLPL83GKHZS0Y1hc16DvkUukB58fQmwcgr18Kc-sIE85MBjDasKsSKJab7xJJpH8DpLcqVZWzA5FeEyVIEpK1G5A16nhVjRsW8rR4AX8O28CA4WjLT6M1TbQ0LlJRzUaD0/s640/blogger-image-1734049708.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The next one was done using Hero Arts water color wheel for the background: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP2tAU7KqQWSuPEX8-cLZ_Y8nInOF8rM1t7yyn7zDpS6ZxUMPIMxg8qlITFMqo9GKdjSVqs6gu7do8dx8G6jmzKmv_asFXZNZddc49q88JrXRdruPYD47LuO5hLju6-7-WmM7O3YBvJjc/s640/blogger-image--1373456331.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP2tAU7KqQWSuPEX8-cLZ_Y8nInOF8rM1t7yyn7zDpS6ZxUMPIMxg8qlITFMqo9GKdjSVqs6gu7do8dx8G6jmzKmv_asFXZNZddc49q88JrXRdruPYD47LuO5hLju6-7-WmM7O3YBvJjc/s640/blogger-image--1373456331.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">And the last one I used two different types of watercolor...Leow Cornell Simply Water Color Art Cakes and Pearlescent Water Color Paint Cakes. Last week was Spring Break so I tried to get some housework done and spend time with my kiddos.....but, I did get a chance to make a few cards.</div><div><br></div><div>Here's the first one:</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUceVogokAqKsBd3gmInsBBJISstswybHRkeOKcNYX00NPlUv8tfNMSbSbF9me2KY8-fBVC9gS_MvzXVcDkdeFMxQNXSzpI5ds4OfDFpFAZCfPyycsvkViVhUP3PSeWgOIVsDzjqlb3cU/s640/blogger-image--269336164.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUceVogokAqKsBd3gmInsBBJISstswybHRkeOKcNYX00NPlUv8tfNMSbSbF9me2KY8-fBVC9gS_MvzXVcDkdeFMxQNXSzpI5ds4OfDFpFAZCfPyycsvkViVhUP3PSeWgOIVsDzjqlb3cU/s640/blogger-image--269336164.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This fun card was made using the "Honey Bunny" set from Mama Elephant. The images and sentiments in this set are just adorable and I have to say...this set is and will probably stay one of my favorites!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Here's the second:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiINLAgh-0hHRI2xZ697Pk06M0ErhmGKc5AKXHA6pmPmNa7bXgIs1iBLiJNRHHXdNGWQhyphenhyphenPX7X-O1C4ZPcfWJ3pnyrR6w9yIW-07CcfWGJpjhIEzxuGDu4Uc48eyU8Y7ZLMHLOU0nE07yY/s640/blogger-image--2131069649.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiINLAgh-0hHRI2xZ697Pk06M0ErhmGKc5AKXHA6pmPmNa7bXgIs1iBLiJNRHHXdNGWQhyphenhyphenPX7X-O1C4ZPcfWJ3pnyrR6w9yIW-07CcfWGJpjhIEzxuGDu4Uc48eyU8Y7ZLMHLOU0nE07yY/s640/blogger-image--2131069649.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I just adore this "Pure Innocence" sent from MFT called "One Sweet Chic." I tried my hand at paper piecing oart if her outfit and her matching hair bow. I just love how this one turned out :).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This one I made for a good friend of mine: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQpgTE9xGlM4ryA6JJdcHJZVUANEhrBUahPeBgus3s7u9bxq0Yu5Zwo421ru5eko9tNOiPWDhprEDMiCI5xjiLQ40OSph9vTPD0ZCH3m8xIWArqQrqCNHzTxh116YlD0jRdPZ_82JkMUM/s640/blogger-image-1738925758.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQpgTE9xGlM4ryA6JJdcHJZVUANEhrBUahPeBgus3s7u9bxq0Yu5Zwo421ru5eko9tNOiPWDhprEDMiCI5xjiLQ40OSph9vTPD0ZCH3m8xIWArqQrqCNHzTxh116YlD0jRdPZ_82JkMUM/s640/blogger-image-1738925758.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This set is also going to be an all time favorite! Its brand new from Avery Elle and is called "Storybook" These adorable images were drawn by the amazing Heather Campbell (you can find her blog at parkermolly.blogspot.com) and they are just precious! I know I will be reaching for them over and over again!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNGExLzdlx-h7ooh4YQspW8Ed-AWggXQ0B2z_fXaFjxiTQTadZpSdAcBp1DjX8gMUSdq5yqt9LJaeomxnbljeye11Vykvv_2LKNcuvMDks_vgTfj8_x-IojJQqPxo5rHVJEJDVgspwrL0/s640/blogger-image--1175916034.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNGExLzdlx-h7ooh4YQspW8Ed-AWggXQ0B2z_fXaFjxiTQTadZpSdAcBp1DjX8gMUSdq5yqt9LJaeomxnbljeye11Vykvv_2LKNcuvMDks_vgTfj8_x-IojJQqPxo5rHVJEJDVgspwrL0/s640/blogger-image--1175916034.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This last card isn't an Easter card but I just adore it as well. This cute set is from Tiddly Inks and is called "Flying High." I've had this for quite sometime but never did stamp it out. I'm so glad I finally did....I just think it is so fun and a great way to tell someone you're there for them!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Well friends...I hope you have an amazing Easter weekend and find sometime to get some crafting in! I myself will be busy with a Birthday party full of 8 year old girls...and Easter...should be fun and exhausting!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">*Hugs*</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">~Debbie</div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-83142480640246448862014-04-05T15:18:00.001-07:002014-04-05T15:18:56.787-07:00You are my Anchor<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I made this adorable card with my sweet husband in mind. Although he is far away most of the year...he is close to my heart always! He is the anchor that keeps me grounded even when we are apart! I have been crafting as often as I can but I haven't been very good at sharing the things I've been creating here for you to see.<div>I promised in my last post that I could share the cards I created for the last Hero Arts Flickr group scramble challenge that I was in charge of. I chose for my challenge to do a color challenge that was inspired by my two oldest sons...age 20 and 18. I never would have picked these colors myself but have noticed many patterned paper pads and accessories using this color scheme and have been very intrigued with it. So, I decided I would play around with the colors and see what I could create with them and how I would like the end result...and let me tell you....I couldn't stop playing! I just love how these two colors look together and I think you will too! I also requested that the project be made with Hero Arts stamps in mind if at all possible.</div><div><br></div><div>The colors I chose for the scramble were mint and navy. These are the cards I created for inspiration:</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhhzD9NwOrP86otvgDwaLytBFDCllg0do9oTKUaSgSYxNVCrA0PKuntDjRCzLwGq8sQjxf3uEZiXfLoqskAmXFVTV1GpETrZTDhYC_pbz1e_t83QWBiqmPIC1y1YXHHonc4HcriUEpIe4/s640/blogger-image--1013461869.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhhzD9NwOrP86otvgDwaLytBFDCllg0do9oTKUaSgSYxNVCrA0PKuntDjRCzLwGq8sQjxf3uEZiXfLoqskAmXFVTV1GpETrZTDhYC_pbz1e_t83QWBiqmPIC1y1YXHHonc4HcriUEpIe4/s640/blogger-image--1013461869.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx1Z5lQ41NzmVqUsFMggu7MC9x7Id9X_E1utNsXBrIykEGh_0xohGuqs5rTuthtvDvFDPU_H1X-4NIne8YojhkT-w95kV7wFTCTV-kqY99dWG4dxe_DrydASbka-zX7_djUKDg_NmJvos/s640/blogger-image-1970846462.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx1Z5lQ41NzmVqUsFMggu7MC9x7Id9X_E1utNsXBrIykEGh_0xohGuqs5rTuthtvDvFDPU_H1X-4NIne8YojhkT-w95kV7wFTCTV-kqY99dWG4dxe_DrydASbka-zX7_djUKDg_NmJvos/s640/blogger-image-1970846462.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLxQcefadL7dO0G-PqOVyo694d2FtY8G7376fzHkZBklSJGI5jqcS6BoitZozOJq7F6bWjpRYwYzxIE6m51d2WgW2jksGBnrPy4cgFzbKjuMWjBhEXGrHF0aLj-uPYHTcQ3K4TYKy2Lf4/s640/blogger-image-1158769176.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLxQcefadL7dO0G-PqOVyo694d2FtY8G7376fzHkZBklSJGI5jqcS6BoitZozOJq7F6bWjpRYwYzxIE6m51d2WgW2jksGBnrPy4cgFzbKjuMWjBhEXGrHF0aLj-uPYHTcQ3K4TYKy2Lf4/s640/blogger-image-1158769176.jpg"></a></span><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><span style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLxQcefadL7dO0G-PqOVyo694d2FtY8G7376fzHkZBklSJGI5jqcS6BoitZozOJq7F6bWjpRYwYzxIE6m51d2WgW2jksGBnrPy4cgFzbKjuMWjBhEXGrHF0aLj-uPYHTcQ3K4TYKy2Lf4/s640/blogger-image-1158769176.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRa2pr2NWjnh9nWfvcgOMpuNMeG2BdTFTF8CZsR1nDIo_PLsQPZqfNhXpyuR_FGz9URtbbtOBSSF7li6dgCPXg1trzgmHAaHX2ABCQ9dLrbqYDsRpp_x7fzfa0mrDA4iLCefzcEJlhBuk/s640/blogger-image-454747840.jpg"></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; clear: both;">The scramble turned out to be a huge success with some amazing cards! I haven't felt very well this week and have also been working on a few cards for my Hero Arts Flicr group's Scramble. This is a bi-weekly live and timed competion between Flickr friends and I will be hosting next week. So therefore, I won't be able to share my cards that I made as examples for the competition, until after the Scramble ends. But reset assured, I will be posting them for your enjoyment as soon as it does!!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Just a quick post for tonight to share a card I made for my homework, from the latest Online Card Class that I'm taking, which is focusing on Clean and Simple cards. The technique that I used on this card was taught by the amazing and very talented Jennifer McGuire and is called "Iron Off Embossing". Unfortunately, I can't tell you how it works...but if you'd like to learn how to do it, you can register for the class anytime you would like to! I will insert a link <a href="http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/CS3/class-info/" target="_blank">here</a>. I totally recommend taking this, and all the other classes they have to offer, because you can watch the videos and access the content anytime you'd like! It is so worth it too....Its amazing how much you can learn from so many talented crafters!!<br />

I mean really....what's not to love with this set? There's the fun sun elements...the rainbow stamps and stencil...and who doesn't adore Lawn Fawn's paper and twine? Every month I think there's no way that their card kit can get any better...and it absolutely does!!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For my card...I started out by choosing which of the adorable Lawn Fawn 6x6 papers I wanted to use and then used their new "Speech Bubble Border die" one one of my choices to set my scene. Then, I took the stamp set from the kit and using Hero Arts "Butter Bar" medium tone shadow ink...stamped out the cute little sunshine stamp with his smily face....then fussy-cut him out after adding some clear "Wink of Stella" and the "Sakra Clear Star" gelly roll pen. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Next I stamped out my sentiment by using "Versafine Onyx Black" ink and some different colors of my "Distress Markers" over the top of the "Rainbows" sentiment with some more of the "Clear Star Sakura" gelly pen to help the letters pop.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My clouds were cut out next from Neenah Solar White card stock with the Simon Says Stamp exclusive "Flat Bottom Clouds" craft die set. After placing them around my scene, (and of course covering them with my clear "Wink of Stella" too) I decided I needed more of a rainbow element, so I stamped out the rainbow stamps from the set with some of the same distress inks that I used on my sentiment. I then covered them with some clear "Wink of Stella" as well, fussy cut them, and then cut them in half so they looked like two separate rainbows coming in from different sides of the card.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Lastely, I needed to add some finishing touches to really make the car pop...so I added some more clear "Wink of Stella" of course to the sun's rays...the "Clear Star" gelly pen from Sakura to outline all the different images....and some cute clear sequins that I had on hand.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
By the time I finished this card...it was dark outside, so I apologize for the pictures. I had a hard time getting my camera to really showcase all the glittery elements on the card... so I took a close up for y'all so you can hopefully get the gist of it! </div>

Their dies, especially the large ones, make the perfect sentiment/focal point for cards. And that handwriting....... (which from what I understand, is done by the very talented Kristina Werner).... is just beautiful!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The best part about the large sentiment dies from SSS is the fact that you can make two cards from one die by using the negative and positive spaces. So, the other day, I needed to make a card with a water color theme for a new challenge blog called "Virginia's View Challenge". A bunch of girls that I've friended over at Flickr's Hero Arts group, are taking part in this challenge, so I wanted to join in as well.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I started out by laying down some Tim Holtz inks on my craft sheet, like I've seen Kristina Werner do so many times on her videos ( I'll link one up <a href="http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=10732" target="_blank">here</a> for you). I then added the colors onto a 4.25 by 5.50 inch piece of water color paper from Tim Holtz. After drying the paper with my heat tool (because I am a very impatient crafter), I used the large "Hugs" die from SSS and cut it out my sentiment from the center of the paper. I also cut out the same sentiment again from a scrap piece of Neenah 80lb solar white card stock.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Next, I inlayed the white sentiment into the negative space on the water colored paper, so I could get more of a one layered card. Then, I covered the white with some clear Wink of Stella, and added some adorable floral sequins from Lawn Fawn.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This was the result of the first card:</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAxreEKxhhgxOuQ3UDcUIh2cjetfYZ9OSA9CmysZ-nGugCx3fsaUqy2qvEvVoAeurxOTpDFM8gPBBGZK9psC017je_IwI3U-ZrPbqeNobTvuzqsp6X9HOLLoeOtFU_qg520UL8RoylRhc/s640/blogger-image--1689828502.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAxreEKxhhgxOuQ3UDcUIh2cjetfYZ9OSA9CmysZ-nGugCx3fsaUqy2qvEvVoAeurxOTpDFM8gPBBGZK9psC017je_IwI3U-ZrPbqeNobTvuzqsp6X9HOLLoeOtFU_qg520UL8RoylRhc/s400/blogger-image--1689828502.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I love the colors I used for the water coloring...they just blended so well together and made the card look so bright and Springy...and I gotta say ....Spring can not come fast enough!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
That was a few days ago...now to today! I took the water colored positive space from the die cut sentiment, from that card, and decided to make another card with it. I mean.... why not...am I right?...Its gorgeous!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I started this card by cutting out a piece of purple glitter paper from DCWV's pastel glitter collection, with a die from Mama Elephant, and used that as to frame my card. I then die cut a black piece of card stock, with a coordinating die, to use as my background for the sentiment. I then decided to die cut the sentiment one more time, from the same glitter paper, so I could off-set it underneath the water colored piece so it looks like the sentiment is shaded. LOVE IT!! Can I just say....wow? I'm so happy with the results of this card. I of course, added some more clear Wink of Stella to this sentiment, and a few sequins from "Neat and Tangled" to finish it off. Viola....another card done! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Hi crafty friends!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The other day I found out that a friend of mine had to put down her best "pet" friend that had been a part of their family for 13 long years. No one can ever understand, unless you've been through it, how hard that can be...especially after such a long time. So, I decided I would make her a cute card to tell her that I'm thinking about her while she is going through this loss.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I also decided this would be a good time to make a card for the latest "Lawnscaping Challenge" where they want you to dust off some of your older, not so used stamps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
So...I decided to use the cute dog stamp from "Critters in the Burbs" for my main focal point. From the same set I also used the grass stamp and then the sentiment came next from Lawn Fawn's ""So Much to Say" set. And then again from Lawn Fawn I used the "Say Cheese" Lawn Cuts to stage my scene to look like a polaroid. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The background was created from some Tim Holtz distress inks in mowed lawn, mustard seed, and salty ocean...to give a watercolored natural looking background. <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Next, I added some hearts from the "stitched journaling card" Lawn Cuts set to embellish my sentiment and thought it would add a cute effect to use them as raindrops coming out from my cloud. And the lastly, I couldn't help but cover the hearts and cloud with my clear "wink of stella" pen and glossy accents to really make them pop!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> I really hope this card brings a small little smile to my friend's face as she opens it in the near future, knowing that I am thinking about her loss and sending some "hugs" her way in the form of a card!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue Light, HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> Enjoy :)</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hello My Crafty Friends:)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> Last night while I was laying in bed, I was trying to find a fun new way to make a shaker card. I wanted to figure out something that I've never seen anyone do before....and after several minutes of sketching and contemplating.....this idea came to mind. Why not make a shaker card out of a large scripty die? I decided that this idea could really pan out. Simon Says Stamps has created such amazing large scripty dies lately...and I was sure I would find just the one I needed.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> I decided I would try my idea out with Simon Says Stamps "Big Hello Craft Die". This particular die could work perfectly with all its loops and turns. I started by die cutting the sentiment out with 80lb Neenah solar white card stock 5 times as well as once with some white fun foam. Next, I added the fun foam and 3 layers of the sentiment I'd cut out, together using some Tombow Mono Multi glue. After they dried, I adhered the stack down onto a printed sheet of card stock that was already glued down to my 4.25 by 5.50 card base that was also made from 80lb Neenah Solar White. I then glued the two other hello sentiments together the same way, and then glued them on top of a piece of clear acetate I had laying around. I then cut the acetate off from around the outside of the hello sentiment, so it wouldn't be noticeable, except inside the largest loops. Before adhering the whole thing together, I filled each open area in the die with some tiny clear sequins, that I received from a previous Holiday card kit from Simon Says Stamp. The tiny size of these sequins worked perfectly inside this shaker card. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"> Then lastly...I added some silver twine from Lawn Fawn, a few more of the tiny sequins....and a sentiment from Inky Antics "Simple Sentiments" stamp set.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">*Please leave some Comment love if you like this card.....I'd love to hear what you have to say :). If you like what you see...I would like to invite you to follow my blog as well!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"> Thank you friends.....</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Enjoy!!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a quick card that I made for today's scramble challenge on the Hero Art's flickr group. The challenge was to use pink and silver on your card. After a few bloopers on a background that wouldn't dry....and many other ideas jumbling around in my head....this card came out in the last few minutes of the challenge and I LOVE IT!! I luckily receive some awesome silvery glitter embossing powder in the mail yesterday that just worked perfectly for this challenge. I embossed the Hero Arts sentiment on a tag die from Reverse Confetti....Then die cut some vellum leaves from SSS and the butterflies from Hero Arts. Lastly I added some Basic Grey silver mettalic enamel dots.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
After finishing the card...I decided I would enter this one into the latest Hero Arts challenge under their metallic birthday card group again like I did my previous card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
Enjoy your weekend!!</div>

Well, for today's card...we put the bling in the card instead of the gift!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I came up with this design while laying in bed last night. I have a lot of time on my hands to think at night since the nights are long and its hard to sleep wity my hubby so far away.</div>
<div>
<br />
<div>
I made this card for <a href="http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2014/01/31/new-birthday-challenge/" target="_blank">Hero Arts Birthday Challenge.</a> They are looking for some birthday cards with some metallic added in. Well, I think I definitely hit the metallic on the head with this card...what do you think?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I stamped out by stamping the "tiny flags" background from Hero Arts onto some black card stock with versamark and heat embossed with some Ranger super fine gold embossing powder. I then stamped the first image from Hero Arts CL758 set the same way but added silver and then gold for the "BLING" sentiment. Next I added the Happy Birthday sentiment, embossed in silver again, from Hero Arts "CL754" set after cutting it apart to fit it on one line instead of two.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Next I embellished by wadding up some silver metallic thread and adding it behind the framed sentiment and the last but not least, added some gold and silver metallic candy buttons from Basic Grey for a little more blingy bling!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I couldn't be happier with the results! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Enjoy!</div>

Any day that starts with going to church and ends with the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl has to be a winner :). Luckily between those two awesome events I was able to get a couple of cards made so I'd love to share them with you quick.<div>The first card was made using some of the card stock from Simon Says Stamps February card kit. I paired it up with some vellum and this beautiful thank you image I downloaded off of the Silhouette website. I'm loving the soft springy colors! What do you think?</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3pkTEQHa4LFsrsc-bhKWGbtdJffLjcOLsGgvXpQw1gjm8pj8kDoylf9sINYG8pNQvjbIYd7zNp2l8qhPIRJxv8n02C_K1wuOQoDjtBW_hCnqDYIP6MW8Bb9T70TjYks3lzLeJnWG2EEY/s640/blogger-image--285866592.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3pkTEQHa4LFsrsc-bhKWGbtdJffLjcOLsGgvXpQw1gjm8pj8kDoylf9sINYG8pNQvjbIYd7zNp2l8qhPIRJxv8n02C_K1wuOQoDjtBW_hCnqDYIP6MW8Bb9T70TjYks3lzLeJnWG2EEY/s640/blogger-image--285866592.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The second card I made was more of a Valentine card. I started off with some traditional Valentine colors and used another beautiful die cut that is heart shaped from my Silhouette...and then I added a cute arrow die from Reverse Confetti, Simon Says Stamp's big "Hugs" die and then a sentiment from one of my all time favorite Avery Elle sets called "Oh Happy Day"....which totally describes today :).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwrfJzalSmDhdLlNBuCPT_6arNbeCfO8V-4r0AqckN8eeUS56fbzMmku-2NzDhWR-llZBN_xZqK5BvB77zbcfIKAoA597vNABritKLKPCHdRsNymaMdmtQX_YZgTkQ1ROKNjT8ib2v5Cc/s640/blogger-image--289834125.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwrfJzalSmDhdLlNBuCPT_6arNbeCfO8V-4r0AqckN8eeUS56fbzMmku-2NzDhWR-llZBN_xZqK5BvB77zbcfIKAoA597vNABritKLKPCHdRsNymaMdmtQX_YZgTkQ1ROKNjT8ib2v5Cc/s640/blogger-image--289834125.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I hope you enjoyed your Sunday as well and was able to create something that made your day even better!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Sending BIG HUGS your way till next time!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-67270159630067872602014-02-01T23:58:00.001-08:002014-02-01T23:58:47.649-08:00Love BalloonI love Saturdays! No one is rushing out the door. The family is all home together relaxing, enjoying one another, sleeping in...etc. Its so nice not feeling rushed, and it is especially fun to craft on days like this!<div><br></div><div>I came up with the design for today's card while laying in bed last night, surfing through some images on the Silhouette site. I thought it would be fun to use the hot air balloon image from Lawn Fawn only change it to a heart shaped balloon for Valentine's Day. I ended up using a die cut from Simon Says Stamp "Valentine Spoons" set for the heart because the size was just perfect for replacing the balloon..but the rest of the images are from Lawn Fawn's "Blue Skies' stamp and die sets.</div><div><br></div><div>The adorable card stocks and red pearls that I used are from Doodlebug. I don't think there's a Doodlebug design that I don't just love!</div><div><br></div><div>I hope you enjoyed your Saturday as much as I did...and until next time.................</div><div><br></div><div>Hugs!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihHlWhP7iwlxgxXusQ__GHGbVyGWRrpaJG4f9QgnDsdK7FM3RArwjSK7sYwcOvekEtIcLDi3QtYo9vYtujdEQG7s-_lnyVpHWdL_V2WtLig2CxyXMKNdWTqIAEIvfeN3MS_JSpKYG7fu4/s640/blogger-image-1284551254.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihHlWhP7iwlxgxXusQ__GHGbVyGWRrpaJG4f9QgnDsdK7FM3RArwjSK7sYwcOvekEtIcLDi3QtYo9vYtujdEQG7s-_lnyVpHWdL_V2WtLig2CxyXMKNdWTqIAEIvfeN3MS_JSpKYG7fu4/s640/blogger-image-1284551254.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-25961858023561723282014-01-29T20:43:00.001-08:002014-01-29T20:47:21.368-08:00Hello FlourishHappy Wednesday friends! I just have to say.....I am over the moon excited with today's card! I gotta say too that the photo just doesn't even give this card justice The colors involved are so beautiful and the camera just didn't pick them up like I had hoped it would...but what can ya do...right?<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyway...here's my prized posession :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVS6IY3lujpKGE7wLqZEqEttVx2m_i9YedRPrW2eLGJqUYqwxvUag7F2acrSE0s5qEko5tlU8O1YPP7JQo24eYcRssWC4HoRH8_RmxiWrOBa8GRhlq2-OOX3HdTOflEpB4L96fBewFk5I/s1600/blogger-image-1141270011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVS6IY3lujpKGE7wLqZEqEttVx2m_i9YedRPrW2eLGJqUYqwxvUag7F2acrSE0s5qEko5tlU8O1YPP7JQo24eYcRssWC4HoRH8_RmxiWrOBa8GRhlq2-OOX3HdTOflEpB4L96fBewFk5I/s1600/blogger-image-1141270011.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div>
I've had this Hero Arts Stamp for quite some time but just wasn't sure how to go about making it really....you know...POP! Today, while I was looking around at my stamps and trying to get some inspiration...it HIT.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I decided to stamp it on some Tim Holtz water color paper with versamark and heat emboss it with my white Hero Arts embossing powder. I then colored in the image with Distress Markers. I used several colors in the image which you could see and then blended the colors with an aquash brush.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I then fussy cut the image out and placed it onto a red pierced circle die from My Favorite Things. I then adhered that onto a cute polka dotted piece of card stock from the Doodlebug "Sweethearts" collection and added some ribbon I had on hand and some enamel dots from the same collection. The "Hello" sentiment is one that I used a few days ago from Simon Says Stamp.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I will try to take better pictures tomorrow so you can see how truly amazing the card and the colors look. But, in the mean time...I hope all is well with you and that you may find some inspiration to try something new and fun that brings you joy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Until tomorrow......Happy Stamping :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

This card was made by creating my own stencil our of a die by Avery Elle....then using embossing paste by Wendy Vecchi and then covering the paste with four different colors of embossing powders. The sentiment I used is from Avery Elle and is actually from the same stamp set that Jennifer used on her card ...only she made a thank you card. And..... if you've been reading my posts you know I'm in need of Birthday cards right now, so I decided to go with a Birthday sentiment instead :)<div><br></div><div>I am just ecstatic with the results of this card...and can't wait to try this technique time and time again!</div><div><br></div><div>Enjoy!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI2g9tAZRU_IY_ebP1IZS78sWufGvP2-TF6NXVx9SSTltHT6wINTwLTdTkiOw_y5tPizEEiByb4nLN-89J9RQCCfDLgi8HYjCXZkUQuyNEPuu-zgpNj4bqJ_mR-d4Uj1V8PmTrKBKY8lQ/s640/blogger-image-156532388.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI2g9tAZRU_IY_ebP1IZS78sWufGvP2-TF6NXVx9SSTltHT6wINTwLTdTkiOw_y5tPizEEiByb4nLN-89J9RQCCfDLgi8HYjCXZkUQuyNEPuu-zgpNj4bqJ_mR-d4Uj1V8PmTrKBKY8lQ/s640/blogger-image-156532388.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqi9wYt0mJAV_uVNgX6zrwPt80l7vJBNxS0gjIgW2XdaF58DUKnqiZsUlf1BuNuLjPkdMfvTqP5IkbqmXVtnGiiAXrNfv3ZAfVqLkbLnay1FFrAQ7syZoqEYQZP9EtKd84f2-aOBDqKww/s640/blogger-image-65100506.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqi9wYt0mJAV_uVNgX6zrwPt80l7vJBNxS0gjIgW2XdaF58DUKnqiZsUlf1BuNuLjPkdMfvTqP5IkbqmXVtnGiiAXrNfv3ZAfVqLkbLnay1FFrAQ7syZoqEYQZP9EtKd84f2-aOBDqKww/s640/blogger-image-65100506.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-55973418699865280052014-01-26T21:24:00.001-08:002014-01-26T21:24:58.290-08:00Nerdy ValentinesMy adorable seven year old daughter and crafing partner was the inspiration behind tonight's card. She absolutely loves Lawn Fawn...but was especially tickled with the nerdy birds in this year's Valentine release...and begged me to use them in my next card. So, my dear daughter....here you go!<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI_km9VdEyj1keFS9G68B4RkX5-W7BKr9S9ZMdTSZHqofbkvotqZNolz1gLZaBZaX3CDKw-6WH4fMHbImWj8o8833GQdj2ZLv25ZK24U9vHcNYwRJ5vYLA4iE5aOrBYGt18SJSXBW4wEM/s640/blogger-image--790540178.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI_km9VdEyj1keFS9G68B4RkX5-W7BKr9S9ZMdTSZHqofbkvotqZNolz1gLZaBZaX3CDKw-6WH4fMHbImWj8o8833GQdj2ZLv25ZK24U9vHcNYwRJ5vYLA4iE5aOrBYGt18SJSXBW4wEM/s640/blogger-image--790540178.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I started off using SSS's "falling heart" stencil and some white embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi. Before the paste dried....I added some Distress Stickles clear "Rock Candy" extra fine glitter. Then while those were drying....I die cut the Memory Box die called "Twirled Heart Border" on some patterned card stock from Bo Bunny's "Head over Heels" 6x6 Valentine pad and added to the right side of my card. Next, I added some black and white striped washi tape that I bought from Archiver's clearance sale (wasn't marked so I'm not sure of the brand) and placed my little nerdy birds over the top after coloring them with my Spectrum Noir markers. The Speech bubble die and sentiment were from a Valentine set specifically designed by Sizzix for Archiver's and were 3D mounted over the Twirled Heart Border die. And then lastly....I added a few embellishments..... including a puffy heart sticker from Reflections, some black pearls from Bo Bunny, and some black and white baker's twine that I have in my humongo stash.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Needless to say.....my daughter was very pleased with the card!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Enjoy :)</div><br></div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-37547373799656088402014-01-24T20:41:00.001-08:002014-01-24T20:41:54.095-08:00Stinkin' CuteHello Peeps! Today I'm sharing with you two cards that I made. The first card was made using some Simon Says Stamp products that I recently received in the mail. I've been eyeing this adorable skunk set for awhile now...and that heart background...what can I say...LOVE IT!<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCAgNKN1asYIpVeR2YM-wLyqH0pViIbiABnVekGrWcvmz9tr52YgpCsJ2RVEzc434ods4lu00NRXj1mgcz0uTlYBoBhzinvJ1vW1NZldTOspS6tvLd2RuKo1bNoA5Y9y-_yk6swUHxfbY/s640/blogger-image--461240095.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCAgNKN1asYIpVeR2YM-wLyqH0pViIbiABnVekGrWcvmz9tr52YgpCsJ2RVEzc434ods4lu00NRXj1mgcz0uTlYBoBhzinvJ1vW1NZldTOspS6tvLd2RuKo1bNoA5Y9y-_yk6swUHxfbY/s640/blogger-image--461240095.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">This second card was is my homework for my Online Card Class called "Stenciled". After masking off a diaganol section...I used a checkerboard stencil from Prima Flowers. First, I inked up the stencil with 'Festive Berries" distress ink and then moved the stencil over and inked it up again with "Peacock Flowers". I then filled up the diaganol with a "thanks you" die cut from memory box..but I only used the "thanks" which I die cut on some teal colored card stock I had on hand that just happened to match almost perfectly. Then, using the Paper Smooches "Many Thanks" set...I stamped the "Sincere" sentiment with the same barn door distress ink.</div><div><br></div>Lastly, I matted the image onto some of the same teal colored cardstock as well as some red card stock...and punched out a few red hearts, colored them with my clear Wink of STella, and then added them next to my sentiment.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8FVp44DV-JMpeFPzZeQHOGRKKjKivAVzsTRCACpIITN2b4kjZ0YtVw60vV4y3hwdQBxYOD7-8s_xQsSFJZd2JQH1R-SK1UblIe3IqFm_rifVO1ibvv9PvMnhSUdQwSrWy3E_8AwanlEQ/s640/blogger-image-973067285.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8FVp44DV-JMpeFPzZeQHOGRKKjKivAVzsTRCACpIITN2b4kjZ0YtVw60vV4y3hwdQBxYOD7-8s_xQsSFJZd2JQH1R-SK1UblIe3IqFm_rifVO1ibvv9PvMnhSUdQwSrWy3E_8AwanlEQ/s640/blogger-image-973067285.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>It was fun using a stencil as my background image today! I can't wait to see what else there is to learn from this class. I'll make sure to share my homework again!</div><div><br></div><div>Enjoy:)</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>Deborah Montgomeryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05571604592117248285noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2388517220346558754.post-77570733922631896612014-01-21T21:54:00.001-08:002014-01-21T21:59:20.887-08:00Life Is Good!Just a quick post to share a card I whipped up tonight using the Hero Arts"Brush Strokes" set.
