Fall Friends

Here's a fun card I made today for the latest pinspired challenge #18 that you see here:

I finally got my newest Lawn Fawn stamp set.."into the woods" and I couldn't wait to use it! I paired it up with "critters in the forest" and came up with this fun colorful callage using Hero Arts Shadow Inks and some Lawn Fawn sequins...Enjoy!!

Fall Friends Inside

......and because I'm taking the "insider" class I needed to do my homework for the day.....so, I finished the inside of the card as well. I used one of Jennifer McGuire's pop up ideas for the sentiment. Take a look :)......

Runway Inspired

So I decided to finally try my hand at the Runway Inspired Challenge #44. I've been tracking the challenges for awhile but haven't had the nerve to try it myself. I decided it was time for me to jump out of my comfort zone and just give it a go. The inspiration photo for this challenge is this photo....

I was drawn to the royal blue flourish look to the dress...the belt. and the sheer skirt. I knew exactly which ink I wanted to use....The Memento Luxe ink in "Danube Blue" was such a perfect match for the blue in the dress. I used the Hero Arts Flourish Background stamp as the background of my card and clear embossed over the luxe ink. I then laid a strip of vellum and die cut the Simon Says Stamp large "hello" die from some blue glitter card stock and glued it down over the vellum. I also added a strip of the glittered card stock across the bottom of the vellum to symbolize the blue belt on her dress. GORGEOUS!!! My little girl just loves how it turned out and I have to say so do I!! Enjoy :)

Update!

Here's what I made with the rest of the paper after die-cutting the first image. Waste not want not right :)

Monochromatic Mania

I haven't submitted any cards to the last few Lawnscaping challenges. I was really hoping to receive my order for the latest Lawn Fawn release that I've been dying to get so that I could...but unfortunately I haven't received it yet even though I ordered them several weeks ago. I promised myself however, that no matter what the challenge was this time, I was going to make it happen. I decided that I would just have do have fun with some oldies but goodies.

When I saw that it was a monochromatic challenge, I was a little more apprehensive about participating...I wasn't sure how I would pull it off and what set I would want to use to do it. I wanted it to be unique. As I was flipping through my sets I came across the "My Cup of Tea" set and it hit me! Here's what I came up with.....

I love how this card turned out...I actually was starting out hoping for a blue on blue but when I started stamping it turned out looking teal. I gotta say.....Im loving it though! Enjoy :)

Fanciful Feathers

Just a quick post showing a card I made tonight for a neighbor of mine who filled in for me last minute at church last Sunday. As soon as I saw this feather set...I was in love! To be honest, not too many of the feather sets that have been coming out lately have really hit me enough to want to buy them, but this one from Wplus9 did just that and more!

I inked up one of the feathers in Memento Luxe "Love Letter" and another feather in "Teal Zeal". Then, with the third and final feather, I decided to ink it up with Versamark and emboss it with Hero Arts "Gold" embossing powder along with the sentiment. A little twine and bling to finish it up the look.

I just love the CAS look of this card. Enjoy :)

UPDATE: While cutting out the feathers for this card, I decided to make a few extra because I was so in love with it. Here's more to share :)

SPOOOOOKY!

Have you seen the new chevron washi tapes from We R Memory Keepers? They are sooo awesome and come in a wonderful array of colors. When I saw them, I knew I had to have them. As luck would have it, my local Archiver's was having an awesome sale and I headed straight out to get them. I didn't buy them all, but I sure as heck wanted too!!

I knew right away what I wanted to do with these different colors of chevron. I chose some Fall and Halloween colors and used some popular Halloween colors for this card. I started off with some black card stock and added three colors of tape: green, purple, and orange. I then stamped a couple of adorable images from the new Mama Elehant set "Bootastic Me." Have you seen this set? Who doesn't love to see cute little kids in costume? So cute!! I colored the images with my copics then fussy cut them out and placed them over the chevron background I'd created. I then white embossed the sentiment, which came from the same set. Last of all I added some faux stitching with my white gelly roll pen and a few Doodlebug "Halloween Sprinkles" in colors to match my chevron washi. Simply adorable!! Enjoy :)

MY HERO

Hello, Happy HUMP DAY y'all. Today I'm featuring a card that I made for my son to send to his significant other/girlfriend who is away for several months serving a mission for our church. He bought her a superman cape to send her because he wanted her to know that she is his hero. He asked me to make him a card to go along with it, and you know where this is going....where do I find the perfect new super hero stamp? Lawn Fawn's newest "critters" set of course!! My new set came just in time for me to make this card. I've been so excited to play with this set since the first moment I saw its release. I stamped, and die cut the owl and colored him with my copic markers. I put him on on another adorable piece of card stock that I found in the Doodlebug "Happy Harvest" collection. This paper was the perfect addition...its full of little owl images that just look like they are cheering on their local hero.
I covered his cape and mask with my Wink of Stella so they would sparkle in the wind.

As you can see, the sentiment says "flying by to say" which came from the Lawn Fawn "Flying By" set and on the inside added the sentiment "you're my hero" from the same "Critters in Costume" set the owl came from. A little washi tape and a little twine...and voila!! My son was ecstatic with the results. ENJOY :)

Happy Harvest

Here's a quick card I made using a wood stamp that I found on clearance at my local Archiver's the other day. As you know from previous posts, I love fall and I couldn't wait to color this beautiful work of art. I used several copic markers to color the images from the stamp and even took a chance and colored in the background with them as well to look like a perfect fall sunset. Some fun card stock from Doodlebug's "Happy Harvest" collection was added in the background. Then a few fall pearls, clear "Wink of Stella" (of course) and some matching ribbon to top it off! ENJOY :)

Hello Kitty

Hello friends...Sorry its been so long since I've blogged. Unfortunately I suffer from severe back pain mixed with arthritis and fibromyalgia. I consider my card crafting as my happy therapy to help keep my mind of my daily pain....but unfortunately pain got the best of me over the last week. So therefore, although I have crafted some, blogging has been difficult because I'm in so much pain once I finish my project for the day.

Today I finished an adorable little composition notebook for my little girlie. I made one for her Daddy a month or so back and she has been begging me to make one for her too. I know how much she loves kitties, especially "Hello Kitty" so I decided to start there. I let her pick out her background card stock which came with adhesive backing on it. I then added some Hello Kitty washi tape down the binded edge to help hold down the card stock. I finally received (after two months on back order) my Kelly Purkey iPhone die cut...and can I just say that I AM IN LOVE! It is soooo cute and so easy to use. I cut it out in white card stock to look like Mommy's iPhone and added one of the adorable kitty stamps from "Newton's Nook". I left the kitten white and colored its cute little nose and ears pink with my copic markers. SOOOOO adorable. I then stamped hello (from Lawn Fawn's "So Much to Say" set) underneath the kitty with memento luxe ink (in rosebud) which I then embossed with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. I then covered the screen with a ton of glossy accents so that it looks like a true iPhone....perfect! And last but not least I added a couple tabs and some clear "Wink of Stella" on some of the hearts in the background and on the tabs! I love love love how it turned out, but most importantly, my daughter loves how it turned out even more :). ENJOY!
