An Elegant Christmas

Here's today's Holiday Card which is #17 in my series. This is a simple, yet elegant card. I started out by embossing the snowflakes, which are from Hero Arts and Sizzix. I cut out the tag with my SSS "Medium Tags" Stamptember die set. The sentiment, which is from Hero Art's "Naughty or Nice" set, was clear embossed with Hero Arts embossing powder over Memento Luxe "Northern Pine" ink. And then last but never least.... the patterned papers, that worked just beautifully with this card, are from Echo Park's  "Very Merry Christmas" 6x6 paper pad set.

Hope you enjoy and please have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!

Jingle Bell Booty

Hello Crafters...Haappy WEEEKEND!!! Yay, sleep in day tomorrow! Oh yah, card...you probably want to see my card.

Well, you came to the right place. Today's card was totally the idea of my sweet seven year old crafting buddy. When I took her to Archiver's with me a few weeks back, she fell in love with this stamp set from Art Impression called "Santa Shake Set." She just loves the hilariousness of Santa's shaking booty on the inside of the card...which is applied on top of an "Action Wobbler."

We had so much fun putting this card together! Santa was colored with Copic markers and all his white fluff, hair and fur was just covered with white fabric paint from my local JoAnn's ( since everyone was out of liquid applique)...but it worked awesome. The wreath is a Hero Arts cling stamp called "Very Best Holiday"...that came in my Mystery Box the day I was making this card...and it just fit Santa perfect! And of course a card isn't complete around here without some clear "Wink of Stella" to add some sparkle!

Enjoy :)

Polka-Dot Friends

I made this fun Lawn Fawn card for the latest Lawnscapings challenge.....and for card # 14 in my Holiday Card Series.

This time the challenge is to incorporate polka-dots on your card. I used the black and white polka-dot card stock from Lawn Fawn's "Peace Joy Love" collection to refect a cold, dark snowy night. A group of "friends" in the form of snowmen and birds, colored with copics and wink of stella markers, are gathered together to keep each other warm. I also added some white enamel dots to again add more polka-dot snow to the background....and some black enamel dots for buttons on the snowmen. I also added some liquid black enamel accent to the eyes of each of the characters and some glossy accents on the carrot noses and warm heart!

Enjoy :)

A Distressed Christmas

I loooove distressing, don't you? You never really know what you're going to get!! Today I used Tim Holtz products for my card. After embossing my images with Ranger holographic embossing powder, I used distress inks in "Iced Spruce, Evergreen Bough, and Pine Needles" for the background on my card. I then added some rub on snowflakes and some black and clear gems. Easy peasy right? I did add some twine as an afterthought because I just felt it needed a little something more and placed my card on some black card stock and then used dimentionals to adhere the rest onto some Neenah Solar White.

This is my 13th card in my Holiday Card Series!

Enjoy :)

Peace on Earth

Hello Crafters!

This is going to be a quickie again from me. Unfortunately the family bug got me and I have had absolutely no energy the last few days and am headed to sleep early (yes this is early for me...I don't usually fall asleep till after 2am).

I made a card for today but noticed a blurp that needs fixing while I as editing the photo, so you get this card instead....as my 12th card in my Holiday Card Series :).

This card was made a week or so ago using Hero Arts Products. The main stamping was done using the Hero Arts "Pen and Ink" Christmas tree stamp and the background was embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder using the back ground stamp "tiny stars."

The sentiment was embossed in blue (not sure what brand of powder) and was stamped again from the "Holiday Subway Art" stamp from My Favorite Things. You've gotta see this stamp....its so perfect for so many cards!!

I've decided to enter this card into the Hero Arts Holiday Card Challenge under "My Favorite Things" I absolutely love this Hero Arts Tree Stamp as well as the distressed background using Tim Holtz Distress ink pads....and the embossed Hero Arts tiny stars background! This card has the best of everything :)

Enjoy :)

Homework and #11

Yes folks, I'ma cheating tonight. I am posting two cards tonight that I put together while watching my Holiday Card Workshop online card class. These cards were patterend off of the ones done by the wonderful Shari Carroll...so hopefully I give her cards justice!! She is amazing!!

I could have made them exactly like hers because I had all of the right products, but I felt like I should put my own spin on it, although slight!

Can you tell the difference?

Hope all is well with you and I hope this gets your motor turning, so you to can get started on your Holiday Cards!

Enjoy!!

Thank You Snow Much

Isn't this snowman just the cutest? Hello my friends..... This is my 10th card in my Holiday Card Series and I had "snow" much fun making it (pun totally intended..lol)!

The image, snowflake, and sentiment are all from My favorite Things and I colored them with Spectrum Noir and Copics last night (you can read about that yesterday). The snowflake is from "Snowflake Splendor" and was cut with its matching die. The snowman and sentiment is a Pure Innocence set called...."Thanks Snow Much" (that should be easy to remember...haha) and was cut by me :). I added some fun patterned papers to the background, from My Mind's Eye's "Winter "Wonderland" 6x6 paper pad,....which I've just adored and have used a ton of lately...(hmm..I might just have to buy another one...dangit)! The other snowflakes were just punched off the backside of the snowman patterned paper ( no reason to waste it right?), and the flair is from Lawn Fawn's "Peace Joy Love" collection. Lastly, I added some clear and green "wink of stella" to the scarf, and just clear to the hat and nose....then I tied some May Arts Ivory twine around the card to finish it up!

I don't know about you...but the flu has made its way back into our house this weekend with the sudden drop of temperatues! Here's hoping Momma and the rest of ya stays flu free!!

Enjoy!

Another Newton Christmas

Howdy fellow card crafters! Its time to show you card #9 in my Holiday Card Series...YAY! Can you believe I've actually been keeping up with this? Its been so much fun,and challenging at times, with five kiddos around and my hubby home 24/7.

Anyway, on to today's card :). Last night, while watchin some movies with the fam. I stamped out a bunch of images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my Copics and Spectrum Noirs. I figured it would be a good time to stock pile some images for my Holiday Card Series while I spent time with those I love.

One of the first images I chose to use, was of the adorable Newton again (From Newton's Nook "Newton's Holiday Mischief set". Here he is just sitting there with a Holiday Scarf and matching hat...just enjoying the Season. I used a felt tree right behind him that I recieved just today in my Hero Arts "Christmas Mix Mystery Box"(which was just packed full of awesomeness!!). I also added a "mirrored star" from Tim Holtz Idea-ology on top of the tree. The background was made using the new Mama Elephant "femme frames" and a MFT- pierced tag stax die-namic.

I know I may not list everything I used, so if you ever have a question about a specific item, feel free to leave a comment below and I will let you know, to the best of my knowledge, where that item came from. Thanks again for visiting....it means a lot!!

Enjoy!

A Subway Christmas

Hello Friends :).
Today I'm showing you two quick cards. The first is #8 in my Holiday Card Series....and the second is just a quick card I made as homework for Holiday Card Camp day 2.

For my card today, I tried my hand at a Subway card, using the stamp set "Holiday Subway Art" from My Favorite Thigs. This fun set makes it soooo easy to create with, it pretty much does the work for you ;0). I stamped out the images with various colors of Hero Arts Shadow Inks and sparkled them up with my clear "Wink of Stella" of course!

This second card was made using the "Die-namics Pierced Square Stax", also from MFT...and the "Gift Bow Topper Die" from Lil' Inker. I used the technique of inlayed die cutting that was taught by Jennifer McGuire in the camp. By doing this technique, it actually makes your card a single layer card. As an after thought however, I added the "Merry" die cut on top from Memory Box and the Christmas is from the MFT "Holiday Subway Art" set again, which I embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas

Card #7 in my Holiday Card Series is also my homework from day 1 of the Holiday Card Workshop. I took elements from both Jennifer McGuire's and Kristina Werner's cards. Can you guess what they are?
Enjoy!

Seasons Greetings

This gorgeous set of cards are for today's Holiday Card Series #6. ( sorry they're up late and this is such a quick post... I had a sick spell come on me out of no where last night and I fell asleep quite early).

I used stamps from Penny Black for the sentiment and the tree. The sentiment is from the set "Christmas Cheer" and the tree is a wood stamp called "Snow Dust". I embossed them with Ranger "gold" and "silver" embossing powders on three different cards. Love this look! I was experimenting on a set that I want to make as gifts for my Mother and Mother in law and I think this is a winner!! (Shhhh! Don't tell ;) lol ...) Enjoy!!

Naughty or Nice?

Hello my crafty friends! Today, I am sharing a unique card for my Holiday Card Series #5. I came up with the idea for this card while contemplating on the most recent Lawnscaping challenge. I wanted to come up with something fun and different.....so, as I was surfing through my Lawn Fawn stash, this is what I came up with.

All I did was put together the "Just My Type" set with the Claire's ABC's to look like Santa's list was being typed out for his upcoming annual trip ;). I just love this retro typewriter!! I also used some adorable papers from the "Peace Joy Love" 6x6 paper pad and a flair button from the same set. I wasn't sure if I was going to be happy with it for a minute there, but once it was all put together, and all my added elements were put in place...(such as ice stickles on the keys, wink of stella on the typewriter, sprinkles and twine).....I was ecstatic with the results! What d'ya think?

Enjoy!!

Cool Cuties

Just a quick card to share with y'all today for my Holiday Card Series #4. I made this cute card a few days ago and just loved how it turned out.

This sweet stamp and die set is another one that I picked up exclusively from Archiver's and it is made by Sizzix. I colored these adorable penguins with my Spectrum Noir markers and used some clear stickles on their hats to add some fun, sparkly dimention.

The background was made using the "swiss dots" stencil from MFT and the Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste (this was my first try at this technique and can I just say that I am in love). The snow was created with white card stock covered with my clear "Wink of Stella"....and I gotta admit, it looks just like snow! Next, I added some glossy accents to the penguins cause penguins gotta shine. And lastly, the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and was given to me with one of my orders as a thank you (gotta love Lawn Fawn)!

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think, as well as a link to your blog. I'd love to see what you've been up to too :) Enjoy!!

Meowy Christmas

Welcome to my Holiday Card Series Card #3. Today's card was made specifially for the current sketch challenge on Newton's Nook's blog, but unfortunately didn't realize it ended last night and I didn't get it downloaded in time.....oh well :(...... How cute is this kitten though? I am just in love with Jennifer's stamps but mostly I am in love with her stamps of Newton.
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with Copics and cut him out with a MFT stacked pierced circle die. I then die cut out another circle just one size bigger to frame him with. I then added a variety of different Christmas printed card stock to finish off the sketch and added some sprinkles and an adorable bow out of some ribbon I purchased from Michaels (isn't it gorgeous?). I couldn't call a card complete without some clear Wink of Stella on it somewhere....so I added it to the lights to make them twinkle and a bit on Newton's ears and nose. The idea for the sentiment came from the same set but I wanted to make it larger and stand out more, so I used some letters from Lawn Fawn's "Claire's ABC's" set for "Meowy" and the "Christmas" stamp is from Lawn Fawn's "Trim a Tree". ENJOY :)

Warm Wishes

Holiday Card Series #2

Hello again friends :)...Today I have a card to share with you quick that I threw together pretty fast. I used an adorable Sizzix stamp and die set that was made excluseively for Archiver's. I first stamped the image with Hero Arts Ocean ink and then water colored the mittens with a Tim Holtz "festive berries" distress marker and a Hero Arts aquash brush. I then added some twine and attached the mitteens and twine to a back ground that I made with my Hero Arts Shadow Ink daubers in "tide pool" and "pale tomato" as well as some "teal" Color Shine spray from Heidi Swapp. I then added some Doodle Bug Sprinkles in red and teal to the background for some added dimention....and of course I just had to use my "clear" Wink of Stella to the mittens :). Last but not least, I adhered my masterpiece to some matching card stock. Enjoy!

Holiday Card Series #1

Hi Friends,
I decided  I would try my hand at a Holiday Card series this year. I am just loving making my holiday cards and my goal is to post at least one card a day till Christmas Eve (although I may throw in a few non holiday as well).
If you've been following me,  you'll remember that this is my first year paper crafting, and also that my hubby is a contractor overseas. After being home since July, he is off again very soon and will be gone for quite awhile. The Holidays will be difficult this year, but to get through the lonliness, I find solace in my paper crafting. I tell everyone that asks about me about this new found addiction, that my paper crafting may be pricey, but it is way cheaper than therapy and depression meds...lol!
So please follow along with me as I create cards and craft with paper through the Holiday Season.

Now, without furter ado....here is card #1

Chillin'

This fun card was made by first, stamping the plaid backgound using the "Plaid Background Builder" from My Favorite things with Hero Art's Shadow Inks in tide pool, red royal, and silver onto a panel Nennah Solar White card stock. Second, I stamped out some images from the Paper Smooches "Swanky Snowdudes" set and cut them out with their coordinating dies. I colored the adorable characters with my copic markers and added some clear "Wink of Stella" to shimmer up their scarves, hats, and noses.

The sentiment was stamped on some red card stock from my local Michael's craft store using the same Paper Smooches set and white embossing it with versamark and Hero Art's powder. It was then cut out using a oval nestabilities die cut, and then I went around it making dash lines with my white gel pen. Lastly, I added some snowflake and teal colored sequins that I found at my local JoAnn's and layered the scene on the same red card stock as the sentiment and then mounted it all on some Bazzil teal colored card stock that I used as the card base. Enjoy :)
