BOO!

Hello Peeps,
I told you earlier how much I love love love Fall! I wasn't kiddin, as you'll witness first hand throughout the next few months! And of course, along with Fall, comes Halloween! YAY! I can't tell you how much I love Halloween too! The ghosts, scarecrows, goblins, bats, and CANDY....I love me some candy! Just ask anyone who knows me :).

Anywho, today's card is my first try at a Halloween card. My seven year old crafter in training helped Mommy put this card together.

Isn't it BOOTIFUL?  HEHE! First off we punched out a bunch of little batties with the fiskars bat punch. Then we cut some orange card stock and some of the new Doodle Bug "Halloween Parade" card stock for the background...so adorable! We then die cut the "boo!" sentiment out of the Lawn Cuts "Quinn's abc's" die set. I added some black and white twine and a black felt flower with  few orange and black blingies on the side :). I then added a little washi tape for interest in black and orange with white pokie dots...just for a little sumpin extra :). Me likey....do you? ENJOY!!

Pinspired Challenge #16

Howdy Fellow Stampers and Friends :)

I had so much fun creating and winning with my last card for Pinspired Challenge #15......that I decided to give it another go! I love the pin that was used to inspire Challenge #16. It is full of lost of colorful blossoms, green leaves, and gold lettering. The colors just go together so beautifully on the minty green background. What do you think?

This is the card that was inspired by the pin:

The background of this card was created using TIm Holtz Distress inks in Antique Linen, Old Paper, Mowed lawn, and mustard seed. The sentiment was then embossed with gold embossing powder. After that was done I started stamping the flowers and leaves.....which were from the Simon Says Stamp "Life is a Journey" set that came in the September Card Making Kit. There was also one more flower stamp I used for the yellow flowers that came from the Paper Smooches "Bold Blooms" set. The flowers and leaves were all stamped with various memento inks except for the yellow flowers which were stamped with the Hero Arts Mid Shadow Ink in "Butter Bar" I then added some lemonade twine to the card and some clear "Wink of Stella" to the flowers, as well as some detail with my Uniball white gel pen to the center of the flowers.

This was my third attempt at this card...the first attempt was a little lighter (below). I loved how it turned out as well but felt like it needed a little more and a cleaner look. Enjoy :)

I ❤ FALL

Out of all the seasons....Fall has to be my absolute favorite!! I love the colors of the leaves as they change and fall to the ground. I love the smells of apples, cinnamon, pumpkin, etc. I just love to cook in the fall the most. The weather is perfect for making soups, chili, casseroles, and more! And of course,  I just adore the scarecrows, sunflowers, pumpkins, and everything else that has to do with the season! Yep...I absolutely, without question, ❤ fall most of all!!

So if you haven't figured it out yet, this is my first of I hope many fall cards. I started off with a sunflower of course. I adore sunflowers....I always have. Where I grew up there wasn't very many of them around and I'm not sure why...... but I loved them so much that I always wanted to live in a house surrounded  them when I grew up! I know what you're thinking....does she? Sad to say, but nope I don't. But, I do have many decorative sunflowers on the inside of my home instead and that'll have to do for now.

Today's card was made using the " Splendid Sunflower" stamp and die set from My Favorite Tnings. I used hero arts mid tone shadow inks in butter bar and cup o' joe for the flower. For the leaves and stems I used bamboo leaves memento ink and for the sentiment I used versamark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder. I then covered the center of to sunflower with Wink of Stella's clear glitter pen as well as parts of the leaves. And last but not least, I added some Lawn Fawn lemonade twine and popped the card up with my 3d adhesives.

Happy Fall Y'All..... Enjoy :)

Mama Elephant Challenge

Hello peeps :).... Today I bring you a card that I made for the August Mama Elephant challenge. This is the picture that was posted as inspiration for this challenge ....

What a great photo just popping with inspiration. There were so many ways I could take this card. I only own one Mama Elephant stamp set unfortunately, so the trick was trying to find a way to incorporate the stamp set I had, which really has nothing to do with this photo. As for the colors in the photo....love them!! I admit.....it took me a few days of extreme thought to finally come up with my card design. I focused mainly on the colors and the patterned pillows. I decided to have my copic-colored/stamped character float down from a rain-covered  sky (accented with my clear "Wink of Stella glitter pen of course) with an umbrella ......falling onto a pile of fluffy pillows! I also die cut three squares on the side and added the same patterned pillows into the squares and then I tied some black and white twine bows next to each one ( this was an afterthought pop of imagination that hit me in my sleep). What do you think? ......Enjoy!!

AEI❤U

Howdy friends and fellow stampers. How's your weekend going? Mine has just been a fun day of cleaning and crafting with my family around...I'm loving life right now with the whole family under one roof!!
Today's card was made for the Avery Elle AEI❤U challenge. With this challenge....you are given a sketch and are free to make of it what you will. This my friends.......is the sketch....

And this is what I made of it :).

I used the "Petals and Stems" set for the flowers and used the matching dies to cut them out. I stamped the sentiment with the "Oh Happy Day" set. I just love the handwriting on this set....so cute!!! I used Hero Arts mid tone shadow inks in peach, pale tomato, mint, and tide pool. I also used coordinating pool notecards, layering papers, pearls, and ribbon on the card then used some various other cardstock I had laying around as well.

Can I just tell you that I have become a 'Wink of Stella"-aholic? I can't make a card without it now! My cards just seem so plain and as if something is missing until I use it. So, I added it to the center of the flowers on this card as well as the leaves and the sentiment. It just adds that perfect sumpin-sumpin that just makes your card pop! I then still felt like it needed a little more so I added two layers of dash lines with my white gel pen but still......something just didn't look right on the right side, so I added a couple large white pearls to just fill in that empty space.......and voila! I LOVE IT!!  It actually reminds me of my i-Pad  cover that I showed on a previous post (you can find it here) where I talked about shabby-chic and how much I love it! It wasn't even intended at all but doesn't this card look a lot like my cover? HEHE!!

I so appreciate all your patience as I work on my blog. I'm new to this whole "blogging" thingy (holy cow how things have changed) and am trying to make it work and look better for y'all with the help of my 19 year old who is extremely busy...lol!   But in the meantime know I love ya and appreciate every page view and comment.....  ENJOY :)

Pinspired Challenge

Just a quick post to show you the card I made for the Pinspired Challenge. The pin that was used to inspire was this one:
The Card I created from this pin looks like this:

Not too shabby...I'm really happy with how it turned out..... Enjoy!

Blast from the Past!

Ok...so this is totally going to date me but here goes anyway!! The card that I made today is for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge. They have a sketch that you follow and off you go! I admit I don't have a lot of Paper Smooches stamp sets in my collection yet but one that I do have is the "Knick Knacks" set. I immediately fell in love with this set when I saw this doll. She totally took me back to my childhood where I played with Holly Hobbie and of course Raggedy Ann! Doesn't she look like her? Anyway, I couldn't wait to get to work on this challenge so that I could finally have an excuse to stamp her out and color her! I stamped the image in Black Memento Ink and colored her with my copic markers(an image of the colors I used will be posted below). I then did the same thing with the wagon and placed her inside of it then I covered the wagon with "Glossy Accents" to make it shine. I added some Hero Arts Bling and some hearts that I die cut from the Lawn Cuts die "Hearts" ....and then covered them with my clear "Wink of Stella" pen. I hope this card takes you back in time. Please leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite toys/dolls were growing up. I love to hear from my Stamping Friends :) Enjoy!!

These are the markers I used :)

Here Kitty Kitty Kitty

This second set I made today was made using the Newton's Antics set from Newton's Nook. This kitten set is the first thing that caught my eye when I saw the company's release. I hadn't seen a kitten stamp that I liked until I found this one......these kitties are so adorable!! I stamped the same kitten three times and colored him in three different color combos with my Copic markers. I then placed them in a frame that I cut using the largest rectangle die from My Favorite Things. I added the hello, that also came from My Favorite Things, and the little white butterflies which came from Memory Box "Dancing Butterflies" set. I also added some pink liquid pearls in the kitties ears and on their nose, and then added some sequins that I colored to match with my copics. Whoever said kitties can't be blue or pink? My little girl loves blue and pink right now so I thought she would just adore this card....and of course she did :).... Enjoy!

Lawnscaping Challenge

Hello Friends :)

This card was created for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge. The idea behind this challenge is to create a single layer card. This challenge was a great excuse to use two Lawn Fawn sets that I had yet to use. I stamped my images using the Blissful Botanicals and the Flutter By sets in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I colored each image with my Copic markers. Enjoy!

Single Layered Card

Hi Stampers! Tonight I just wanted to share with you a few cards I created quick over the weekend. I've been trying my hand at single layer cards lately to try and better my stamping skills. My first card was done using Hero Arts products...which incude their Neon Inks and their "Not Perfect" stamp set.

The second was made using My Favorite Things "DC Party Balloons" stamp set, Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Inks, and the Clear Wink of Stella pen. I just love how this one turned out don't you? Enjoy!

Meet Me By The Campfire

Since I spent last week camping with my favorite people....This card just seemed very fitting. Have you heard of Newton's Nook yet? If not, you definitely need to head over there. You can find the link to their website right here on my blog. They are a new company with the most adorable stamp sets. The set I used for this card is called "Campfire Tails", it is soooo adorable! Not only do they have this little bear and campfire that I used for my card, but they have a cute racoon sneaking into a bag of potato chips, that was created from the designers own experience, which just happens to of happened to me as well.

My card was created for their first "inky paws challenge" that you can find on their blog here. Please join me in this challenge as we support this adorable new company! If you haven't ordered any of their new sets yet, they have a free printable for you to download and use instead so that everyone can join in. Please let me know what you think of my card, I'd love to hear from you.....and also if you decide to visit them don't forget to tell me what you think of Newton's Nook! Enjoy :)

I'm Home!!

Hello Stampers! I'm finally home and ready to start creating cards again. It took me a minute to get back in my element and create today. I finally settled on using one of my favorite companies again to get me back in the swing of things. This Lawn Fawn card was created using mostly the stamp set "Critters on the Savanna".  Since I was young I have always had a thing for Zebras. Their colors intrigue me. I love how beautifully and consistent their black and white stripes are. Love them!! So I created a birthday card using the Zebra as my focal point. I water colored him using "Derwent Inktense Pencils" and placed him in a meadow of grass that was die cut from "Savvy Stamps Long Grass Die". I also stamped the tree from the same set as the zebra and colored it with copic markers. I placed a little bird on the tree and added an adorable birthday hat on his head. The sky was made with "Tim Holtz Distress Inks" in "Stormy Sky"and "Tumbled Glass".....and last but not least, the sentiment was stamped in "Soft Granite Shadow Ink" and is from the Lawn Fawn set "Year Two."

I extremely enjoyed my time away with my beautiful family. With my hubby gone for months at a time, and my kids growing up fast, the chances we get to be together are sparse and I savor every minute I get to spend with them. Please leave a comment and tell me how you like the card and what Summer getaways you've enjoyed with your loved ones this year! I'd love to hear from you and make new friends in the stamping world. Enjoy!!
