Love of Sunflowers

Happy Saturday...and better yet....HAPPY FALL!! This hasn't been the happiest of falls yet for me, other than my love of the weather, smells, colors, and season all together. Unfortunately along with the season comes colds, flu's, and this year.....ankle surgery for my hubby. So, as you can imagine, my life has been crazy busy!! I try, however to find time to escape to my corner of the house and craft as much as I can. My favorite time of the day is the evening after everyone is in bed. I just cuddle up on my bed with my iPad...and surf through all my favorite blogs, catching up on what's new in my hidden cyber-craft world. My little haven :).

For today's card, I used one of my most favorite fall elements again, using one of my favorite stamp companies new releases.....Lawn Fawn's "Our Friendship Grows" set. I absolute love the sunflowers in this set. Each and every element of the set just makes me happy!! I wasn't sure where I was going with this card. I started out by just stamping the images in Memento tuxedo black ink and colored them in with my copic markers, while sitting by my hubby watching t.v. one evening (I'll include a picture of the marker colors I used below).

After finishing all the elements I die cut several different patterned papers with the Lawn Fawn "stiched journaling card" and played around with the different colors and patterns until I found one I liked (with the help of my little girl). I then set the scene and added some final touches with the Lawn Fawn's Hearts Lawn Cuts which I covered with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and then my Glossy Accents. I love how this combo makes the hearts bold and beautiful!! Enjoy :)
