Sunshine and Rainbows

I am in love with Simon Says Stamp's most recent card kit for the month of March! I mean really....what's not to love with this set? There's the  fun sun elements...the rainbow stamps and stencil...and who doesn't adore Lawn Fawn's paper and twine?  Every month I think there's no way that their card kit can get any better...and it absolutely does!!

For my card...I started out by choosing which of the adorable Lawn Fawn 6x6 papers I wanted to use and then used their new "Speech Bubble Border die" one one of my choices to set my scene. Then, I took the stamp set from the kit and using Hero Arts "Butter Bar" medium tone shadow ink...stamped out the cute little sunshine stamp with his smily face....then fussy-cut him out after adding some clear "Wink of Stella" and  the "Sakra Clear Star" gelly roll pen.

Next I stamped out my sentiment by using "Versafine Onyx Black" ink and some different colors of my "Distress Markers" over the top of the "Rainbows" sentiment with some more of the "Clear Star Sakura" gelly pen to help the letters pop.

My clouds were cut out next from Neenah Solar White card stock with the Simon Says Stamp exclusive "Flat Bottom Clouds" craft die set. After placing them around my scene, (and of course covering them with my clear "Wink of Stella" too) I decided I needed more of a rainbow element, so I stamped out the rainbow stamps from the set with some of the same distress inks that I used on my sentiment. I then covered them with some clear "Wink of Stella" as well, fussy cut them, and then cut them in half so they looked like two separate rainbows coming in from different sides of the card.

Lastely, I needed to add some finishing touches to really make the car pop...so I added some more clear "Wink of Stella" of course to the sun's rays...the "Clear Star" gelly pen from Sakura to outline all the different images....and some cute clear sequins that I had on hand.

By the time I finished this card...it was dark outside, so I apologize for the pictures. I had a hard time getting my camera to really showcase all the glittery elements on the card... so I took a close up for y'all so you  can hopefully get the gist of it!

Here's the close up:

I'd love to see what you were able to create with your monthly card kit. Please leave me a comment with a link to you blog or flickr account...and I'll come by and see what you've been up to!

Thanks for the visit!
