Puppy Love

Hi crafty friends!
The other day I found out that a friend of mine had to put down her best "pet" friend that had been a part of their family for 13 long years. No one can ever understand, unless you've been through it, how hard that can be...especially after such a long time. So, I decided I would make her a cute card to tell her that I'm thinking about her while she is going through this loss.

I also decided this would be a good time to make a card for the latest "Lawnscaping Challenge" where they want you to dust off some of your older, not so used stamps.

So...I decided to use the cute dog stamp from "Critters in the Burbs" for my main focal point. From the same set I also used the grass stamp and then the sentiment came next from Lawn Fawn's ""So Much to Say" set. And then again from Lawn Fawn I used the "Say Cheese" Lawn Cuts to stage my scene to look like a polaroid.

The background was created from some Tim Holtz distress inks in mowed lawn, mustard seed, and salty ocean...to give a watercolored natural looking background.  Next, I added some hearts from the "stitched journaling card" Lawn Cuts set to embellish my sentiment and thought it would add a cute effect to use them as raindrops coming out from my cloud. And the lastly, I couldn't help but cover the hearts and cloud with my clear "wink of stella" pen and glossy accents to really make them pop!

I really hope this card brings a small little smile to my friend's face as she opens it in the near future, knowing that I am thinking about her loss and sending some "hugs" her way in the form of a card!

  Enjoy :)
